Japanese Trifele Yellow is a yellow-orange pear-shaped Russian commercial heirloom. The plant produces a mass of mild (some might say bland) tasting tomatoes, perfect for canning or paste. The orange color of this tomato makes me wonder if it isn’t actually Japanese Trifele ‘Orange’ but, until I grow both varieties both side-by-side I will keep it listed under the name used by my original seed source.
